The posters were both well received and the 2 events concluded Lee’s “Summer Tour”.

This month also included the opening of 10 holes at Cabot Links, the much anticipated new links course in Cape Breton, Canada. Group W is creating hand-painted yardage books for the golf course – here’s a sneak peek of the awesome 2nd hole.

Presenting Lee’s official poster for the U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club. His fourth U.S. Open poster showcases the club’s recently remodeled finishing hole with the storied clubhouse as the backdrop. Lee will be appearing through the entire event to sign and personalize posters for golf fans and collectors.

As mentioned in a previous post, Group W is also responsible for creating the official logo for the 2011 U.S. Open Championship.

Recent Press – please have a look at 2 recent online articles featuring our work, including this one in the Summer issue of RL Magazine

This piece was posted earlier this year by renowned golf writer and friend Tom Dunne on his web journal Out and Back

Recent Work – Group W has been hard at work this past winter and spring on a number of exciting logo design projects, for events such such as the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2013 Walker Cup, and also for several private clubs, including the Army Navy CC in Virginia, Ansley GC in Georgia and Mountain Ridge CC in New Jersey.

Lee also created his first Pen & Ink clubhouse rendering in quite a while for the famed Cherry Hills CC in Denver, CO in honor of the club’s 52nd Hillsdilly Classic.

Current Projects – below is a sampling of the many great things currently in the works at Group W:

2011 U.S. Women’s Open Poster – The Broadmoor
2011 AT&T National Poster – Aronimink GC
Cabot Links Yardage Book – first 10 holes opening July 1, 2011
River Bend Club – Routing Commission celebrating the redesign by Keith Foster

Lee and Group W have just completed their first private club poster print for The Sanctuary – the spectacular Jim Engh golf course located just outside Denver. The prints depict the view from behind the 18th green to the front range of the majestic Rocky Mountains, and are used as favors and prizes in the numerous charity outings hosted there each season.

March also marked the completion of a Logo / Re-branding project for the The River Bend Club in Great Falls, VA. The club has just redesigned their golf course and renovated the clubhouse and now has a trademark that captures the dynamic new spirit there. Group W developed a 3 logo system for the club and guided them trough a name change from River Bend Golf & Country Club.

This fall, Lee Wybranski was commissioned to create a poster for the the Twentieth Annual Legends Invitational, a unique event played over Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay and Spyglass Hill golf courses. The event pairs business professionals with NFL Hall of Fame players to raise funds for a variety of worthy causes.

Group W Art Works also recently completed logo work for Cabot Links, an authentic links course being built on the west coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. The walking only course, designed by Canadian Rod Whitman, is destined to become the next great destination for golf purists.
